Design by UBER wins coveted ID&A Award
We estimated 250 people from approximately 70 of the world’s top Interior Design related companies were in attendance for the International Design & Architecture Awards 2012 (ID&A Awards). The setting was the sumptuous, flamboyant and very elegant ballroom at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London – a befitting location. It was always going to be hard act to follow the Mandarin Oriental Hyde park of last year’s awards ceremony.
To our delight we were overjoyed to come home with a WIN for our Walmsley Fold project as featured in an earlier blog post.
It seemed that this year all the great and the good of the Interior Design world were in attendance. Making it an even more thrilling feat that in our third established year we managed no less than 9 entries across 7 categories – a sum only matched by our friends the notable Jenny and Helen at Hill House Interiors. For us it was a last minute scramble to have entries finished for photography and descriptive text (it always goes down to the wire!).
Our congratulations to all the winners but we must say with the competition doubling in entry companies this year was extremely tough. Many incredible designs which drew gasps and much applause for ingenuity, creativity and splendor missed out.. goes to show the high calibre of entrants. Its a shame ‘highly commended’s weren’t awarded.
Other notable awards winners were: Candy & Candy, Casa Forma, Hill House Interiors, Wilkinson Beven, Joanna Wood, Staffan Tollgard Design Group, Sean Cochrane and Maurizio Pellizoni.
