To begin with we understand the brief, usually during a free face-to-face consultation. We use this initial meeting to listen, fact find, understand your requirements, and what you’re looking to achieve, including likes and dislikes, as well as your budgets. This is also an opportunity for us to showcase some of our previous work and discuss fees involved.
As soon as possible we like to get on site to understand the surroundings of the location even if this is before construction. During this visit we take photographs and detailed measurements of any key areas and features. It is crucial we have as much detail along with the brief to commence an exacting design phase.
This is where our award-winning skills come into their own as we commence the creative process of drawing-up our ideas as floor layouts and elevations, often working from existing plans. At this point we are thoroughly involved in the research of furnishings and materials which we include, to scale, in these drawings. For some projects we may be working on addressing structural elements, floor finishes, technology services, lighting and small power too.
We then invite you to our showroom for a presentation of the overall layout concept and overarching look tailored for you. Together with moodboards featuring inspirational images and photorealistic renders we aim to give a strong visualisation for the overall direction. We support this with samples of key materials for you to understand the level of finishes and the touch points we are wishing to achieve.
After iterative steps of refinement, we hone various options until you are thrilled. We then move to the detail of each area providing intricate plan drawings of every aspect of the design, from hidden shower wastage, to bespoke cabinetry – in order to fully and accurately cost and instruct all workforce teams. These may include: electricians, plasterers, joiners, bespoke furniture manufacturers, flooring contractors, home automation and security providers, fireplace fitters, plumbers and tilers, kitchen manufacturers, pools & spa contractors and landscapers.
We set to complete the full costing schedule by detailing all aspects of the purchasable goods. Predominantly with the furniture, fittings, equipment and soft furnishings we make sure every element – down to the cupboard handles – is to budget and delivery time expectations for every area of the work. Presented for your approval.
From the initial time of your instruction we can project manage the various teams required acting as your ‘key point of contact’ until final installations (including artwork and house dressing with home decorative touches if required) and the keys are handed over ready for you to walk in to and immediately enjoy.
