Vue ULTRA LUX Mini Cinemas
A commercial interior design project conceived to elevate the contemporary cinema into a refined, immersive experience. Design to feel intimate yet indulgent, the ULTRA LUX auditoriums combine advanced audio-visual technology, sculpted interiors, and considered materiality to create a cinematic environment of exceptional quality.
Complemented by a dedicated ULTRA LUX bar, lounge and upgraded entrance sequence; the project redefines the traditional cinema visit, transforming it into a curated hospitality-led journey from arrival, to interval through to departure.
The Brief
The brief was to create Vue Cinemas’ flagship ULTRA LUX tier, offering a more exclusive and refined alternative to standard auditorium design. The interiors needed to balance intimacy with luxury, integrating laser projection and Dolby Atmos 7.1 sound within spaces that feel warm, tactile, and architecturally resolved.
Alongside the boutique auditoriums, the project included the design of premium social spaces, a dedicated bar, lounge, and enhanced entrance, ensuring the experience extended seamlessly beyond the screening itself.

A Curated Arrival Experience
Designed for Immersion
Every design decision, from spatial planning and furniture layout to lighting, acoustics, and material finishes, was guided by the ambition to elevate the guest experience. Advanced laser projection and Dolby Atmos 7.1 sound are seamlessly integrated, ensuring technology enhances atmosphere rather than dominating it. The result is a cinema environment that feels closer to a private screening room or boutique hospitality venue than a traditional multiplex auditorium
ULTRA LUX Bar & Social Spaces
To extend the experience beyond the screen, a dedicated ULTRA LUX bar and lounge were designed as integral components of the scheme. A backlit orange onyx feature forms a striking yet controlled focal point, referencing Vue’s brand identity while adding warmth and material richness. Curved communal banquette seating and integrated metal partitions define the space, encouraging social interaction while maintaining clear circulation and spatial flow.
Materiality & Detailing
Material selection focused on combining visual refinement with durability suitable for a high-traffic commercial environment. Black timber with fine detailing, tactile upholstery, warm metallic accents, and bespoke joinery elements work together to create a layered and cohesive interior language. Every finish was selected to reinforce the sense of luxury while remaining robust and practical.
Atmospheric Lighting as A Design Feature
Lighting plays a central role in shaping mood and identity throughout the project. Backlit laser-cut fretwork metal panels introduce subtle ombré effects, adding depth, rhythm, and visual intrigue to seating and circulation areas. This layered approach softens transitions between spaces while reinforcing the refined character of the ULTRA LUX concept.
Boutique-Style ULTRA LUX Auditoriums
Designed to feel intimate and immersive, the ULTRA LUX mini cinemas are smaller in scale yet rich in detail. Plush recliner seating, generous spacing, and calibrated lighting levels enhance comfort, while acoustic detailing ensures clarity and depth of sound throughout the auditorium. The reduced scale allows each screening to feel focused and personal, intensifying the cinematic experience. These private mini cinemas can be reserved for families and friends, transforming a movie screening into a shared, exclusive occasion. Whether for celebrations, casual gatherings, or quiet nights together, the space offers a refined setting for collective enjoyment in complete comfort.
