The brief
To support the architect, NC Architecture, and client to space plan, design and fit out a new-build property in one of the most desirable locations in Knutsford, Cheshire UK.
Sitting adjacent to a renowned and listed Italianate Harding-Watts designed house in a conservation area meant that the client’s love of the full French chateaux style had to be carefully introduced and subtly blended.
In order to circumnavigate planning a considered and balanced mix of English grand was required to successfully gain planning permission.

Imposing antique entrance lights
This award-winning new build private property in one of the most desirable roads of Knutsford, Cheshire along from the family home of certain Mr Royce (of Rolls Royce fame).
The initial concept was designed by Neil Collins of NC Architecture along with internal architecture consultancy from Design by UBER from the minute the land was bought.
Having such an early influence meant we were quickly able to interpret and maximise the potential of the house layout with creative space planning to match the client’s desires, potentially saving time and money.

The main 10,500 sq ft main house consists of two levels to the front and three to the rear as the ground slopes away to include a stunning lower ground leisure suite which is basked in natural light to one side.
It is complemented by a separate triple garage with a self-contained apartment comprising a total of 2,000sqft.

Dining hall details
The grand central dining area was a particular favourite with ornate cornice, parquet flooring and arched doors out to the veranda.
Design by UBER were brought in to facilitate the complete design and specification of every fixture and fittings working alongside the builders and service suppliers.

hand-made country-style kitchen
Considering the size and scale of the open spaces which are amplified in off-white neutral tones with white marble, the bespoke Clive Christian kitchen still sits well in an elegant country style with a natural wood finished island to compliment the striking oak beam centre-piece above.
